Thankful to be part of the TNW T500 for the last time, a list of 500 digital talents 🙏🏼. Below are a few things I learned that you might find interesting or even hopeful 💡.
> Nostics is a brilliant startup for data-driven diagnostics. Thanks for the demo David Garcia van Bijsterveld & Yen way Isabell Trinh.
> Cyclize is also a beautiful startup that has managed to effectively convert mixed waste and CO2 into syngas, giving us hope for a significant leap towards a circular industry. Still VCs find it scary to invest in these big leaps. Thanks, Maike Lambarth!
> I have never heard anyone explain marketing as clearly as Erik Huberman(Hawke Media). He boils it down to awareness, nurturing, and trust. He also promotes his book about this model, "The Hawke Method."
> David Heinemeier Hansson (founder of Ruby on Rails & Basecamp) and conversations with founders and VC's showed me that working on a startup is sometimes no different from working for a boss, and it's always important to consider bootstrapping.
> Alain Sylvain (SYLVAIN) talked about the power of timing. Many valuable things don't succeed due to bad timing. He argued that timing is more important than the product. He shared his model (also from a new book), where timing is a combination of cultural climate, individual appetite, and innovation infrastructure.
> Nick Foster RDI (Google) discussed how we create really bad images of the future because we only focus on the heroes and neglect the normal people. We leave out all the other objects and services we already have, as if we are starting anew, forgetting that the future is always a bit flawed (ships create shipwrecks).
> Robert Brunner a design legend at Apple, who also designed the first Beats by Dre headphones, shared the importance of getting rid of your design framework for a period of time and focusing on every little part. When asked how to cultivate bold intuition within innovation teams, he simply answered: take risks early. Loved it!
